What's the difference between used and CPO?

The main thing to keep in mind when deciding whether to purchase a used or Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle is that CPO models are considered the top tier of used cars. This is due to the fact that they go through strict evaluation processes by our service technicians in order to receive our stamp of approval. Many aspects are taken into account such as the vehicle’s age and mileage. We conduct a thorough inspection that narrows the amount of models that get the certified label. Once they finally make it to the inspection finish line, every vehicle receives a variety of useful warranties as the ultimate shield of financial protection.

What is good mileage on a used car?

Of course this number varies, but from our observations, the mileage that typically makes a car “undrivable” has increased over the years. As newer models are being developed, powertrain technology is becoming more advanced, resulting in increased efficiency across the board for new vehicles. On average, modern cars generally don’t experience major issues until the 200,000-mile mark. Some cars can even last until 300,000 miles when they’re taken care of (this can be done through consistent routine maintenance such as brake checks, oil changes, battery checks, etc.). However, this is all dependent on the make and model, so make sure you do your research on the longevity of the car you have your eye on.

How do I know that I'm getting a good deal?

When you shop at any of the dealerships in the Karl Malone Auto Group, you’ll get the best possible deal. To be even more confident that you're getting a good deal, we highly recommend doing your research on the current market before you pick a ride. Use reliable sources such as Kelley Blue Book® or Edmunds where you can receive the most accurate estimates and information on the models you’re interested in. The vehicle values fluctuate month-to-month, so you want to take that into consideration as well. If you’re looking to save even more on your next car purchase, you can discover the value of your trade by visiting the website of one of our trade locations. Once you’re ready to make your purchase, you can put that trade-in value toward your new-to-you ride.

Why should I buy from a dealership?

Buying from one of our dealerships is a sure way to have a secure and safe purchase from start to finish. We are transparent in our pricing and legally obligated to clearly state everything about the car you’re interested in from top to bottom. At each of Karl Malone Auto Group’s dealership locations, we offer exclusive used car specials and financing offers that you can’t get anywhere else. After you’ve driven your vehicle for a while, you can come back to one of our dealerships to receive impeccable car servicing and see a familiar face each time you arrive! No more rolling the dice on a local mechanic. These various perks make it clear that our dealerships are the way to go for any of your automotive needs, especially compared to a private party that you don’t know much about.
